It has been a wonderful opportunity to watch the construction, and to be a part of the open house and dedication of this beautiful building. It is a testimony to me of how much our Heavenly Father loves us. We are so blessed that he would provide us with temples here on the earth as a place of refuge and peace from the storms of life.
"My brothers and sisters, temples are more than stone and mortar. They are filled with faith and fasting. They are built of trials and testimonies. They are sanctified by sacrifice and service."
-President Thomas S. Monson
Just a quick sidenote:
On Friday, M and I took a walk past the temple and down to the high school. The youth were practicing for the Day of Celebration performance to kick-off the dedication. It was a sight that took my breath away. First of all, I don't know how in the heck you organize 4,000 youth. But, they were organized. It was INCREDIBLE to see all of these kids come together to perform something of this magnitude. I was so excited for them, and this extremely, beyond rare, opportunity they had to participate in this performance. The football stadium where they were practicing was packed full of the Spirit. It was so cool!
